The Kooch Kavach is made from a new innovative composite material named Bahu-Balli. Which is also developed by our company. Bahu-Balli is made of Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) – treated and HDPE – coated bamboo poles. This composite material has a higher strength in terms of mechanical properties in comparison with normal bamboo and with steel (in some specific applications).

The Kooch Kavach elements have a high bending load carrying strength compared to conventional steel crash barrier elements. So the dynamic flexibility of the Kooch Kavach is also ensured in the event of an accident. The impact shock is absorbed and the vehicle is deflected from the barrier towards the road in the same way as the traditional steel crash barriers.

Creosote treatment by VPI protects the bamboo from any termite, borer, and insect infestation. HDPEcoating is highly resistant to heat, light, and water. As a result of all processes, the Kooch Kavach – Bamboo crash barrier is made weatherproof, thus requiring no further maintenance/care. Only selected matured bamboo species (with specific mechanical strengths) from India are used in the production of the Kooch Kavach.
